Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich

Mix it up with these delicious Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches that you can make on your smoker! Tender, juicy smoked steak, onions and green peppers on a toasty bun topped with melted Provolone cheese!

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb Rib-Eye Steak, sliced thing
  • 1 Tbsp canola oil
  • 1 yellow onion thinly sliced
  • 1 green pepper thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 4 sub buns
  • 4 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

  • Prepare pellet grill and heat to 450 degrees F with lid closed 10-15 minutes.
  • Place a cast iron skillet on the pellet grill and heat an additional 15 minutes. When the skillet is hot pour the oil into skillet. Add the onions and green pepper; saute until onions are translucent.
  • Add the sliced rib-eye to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for an aditional 4-5 minutes on smoker. 
  • Slice sub buns in half and place on grill, cut side down about 3-4 minutes or until toasted. 
  • Remove sub buns and skillet from pellet grill. Place 1/4 of the steak mixture into a sub bun and top with a slice of cheese. Repeat for all sub buns.
