Ingredients

  • 1.5-2 pounds chicken wingettes
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil

Seasoning Mix

  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoons onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper more if you like more spice

Hot Honey Sauce

  • 1 cup honey
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 3 Tablespoons hot sauce Can add more for more spice

Instructions

  • Preheat the grill to medium heat about 375-400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Pat the wings completely dry with a paper towel and place in a large mixing bowl.
  • Add the olive oil to the chicken wings and mix until all the wings are coated.
  • In a small bowl mix all the seasonings with a whisk. Add the seasoning mixture the the wings and mix until well coated.
  • Add the seasoned wings to the grill. Grill for 10 minutes, flip the wings and then grill for another 10 minutes or until internal temp of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • While the wings are cooking, mix up the hot honey sauce. Add butter, honey and hot sauce to a saucepan. Let it simmer together lightly. Give it a taste and decide if you want more hot sauce for heat. You can also add cayenne pepper to the sauce to kick it up a notch.
  • Once the wings are cooked through, remove from the grill and place them in a big serving bowl. Pour all the hot honey sauce over them, toss them well! Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

Fridge: Store leftover hot honey wings in an airtight container up to 4 days.
Freezer: Once wings are cool, freeze in a single layer before storing in a freezer bag or airtight container. Thaw in the fridge overnight before reheating for best results. If you know ahead of time you will be freezing some grilled wings, leave the hot honey sauce off of them until they've been reheated to be served.
Reheat wings on the grill until they have an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit. In a pinch you can also easily reheat them in the air fryer or oven.
