Smoked Brats

Ingredients

  • 6 bratwursts
  • 6 bratwurst buns
  • Toppings to serve: Sauerkraut, ketchup, mustard, relish

Instructions

  • Preheat the smoker to 225 degrees Fahrenheit according to manufacturers directions.
  • Remove the brats from their packaging.
  • Put the brats on the preheated smoker and let them smoke for about 1 hour 30 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees Fahrenheit. Rotate them after 20 minutes.
  • Remove and serve warm.

Notes

FRIDGE: Place leftovers into an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.
FREEZER: You can also freeze leftover brats! Wrap in plastic wrap or place into an airtight container and store for up to 3 months. Allow to thaw before reheating.
Reheat brats on the stove top, in the oven, or in the microwave until they reach a safe internal temperature.
