Ingredients of Chicken Seasoning unmixed in bowl

If you’re looking for a simple chicken seasoning recipe that delivers every time, this is the one for you. While there are several different spices to add to the mix, you’re going to love the taste and outcome of this simple recipe.

Chicken is such a great meat to cook and eat. We love our Grilled Chicken Thighs for an easy dinner! I love how versatile it is and how it takes on the flavors of spices and seasonings so well. And if you’ve ever had a taste-test of differently seasoned chickens, you completely know where I’m coming from in reference to how chicken can taste so different every single time.

One of our favorite chicken recipes is this Beer Can Chicken, but sometimes you need a simple 30 minute dinner and this chicken seasoning thrown on chicken breasts or thighs is just that!

What is chicken seasoning made of?

How do you make chicken seasoning?

Have I mentioned how simple this recipe is? All you literally do is combine all ingredients in a small bowl and store any leftovers in an airtight container.

What spice goes well with chicken?

The better question might be what spice does NOT go well with chicken? Chicken is one of those foods that tend to adapt well to a wide variety of spices. Cumin, garlic, and basil are just a few spices that go really well with chicken.

What do you need to season chicken?

You need spices to season and really, that’s about it. The chicken will absorb the flavors wonderfully and you’ll love being able to taste all the seasonings with every single bite.

What is the best seasoning?

I’m going to have to say….this one! If you’re talking about chicken seasoning, you just can’t go wrong with this great homemade option. But if you’re talking about a different type of meat, there are other great seasonings as well. Check out this Steak Seasoning as well for the next time that you’re cooking steak.

How do I store leftover seasoning?

Once you have it mixed together, you can store it in an airtight container in the fridge. It should be fine to be in there for a short time or until you’re ready to use it on your next batch of chicken!

The key is to have it airtight or at least covered securely so there isn’t any other food smells coming in contact with your seasoning. Keeping it closed up securely will keep it as fresh and aromatic as possible.

How long should I let this seasoning rest on chicken to get maximum flavoring before grilling?

We really don’t let it rest, but you could do a 30 minute to a few hours rest if you’d like.
