Cooking bacon on the Blackstone is the move that finally got the bacon smell out of my house for good, and I am never going back. The griddle gives you the room to cook a whole pound at once, and once you dial in the heat you can make it exactly as crispy or as chewy as you like. My family is split right down the middle on this, which is why I always end up cooking two batches.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- Cooking bacon on a griddle only takes a total of 15 minutes. That will definitely help speed up that breakfast cooking time. And don’t forget, you can keep the bacon warm on the Blackstone while you cook the rest of your meal.
- Bacon on the Blackstone griddle is always cooked evenly to perfection. No more under cooked fatty bits on your slices of bacon.
- You can cook a bulk amount of bacon really quickly which is great for meal prep or feeding a brunch crowd.

Key Ingredients
- Bacon – Yup, that’s it, just bacon! I always recommend buying thick cut bacon but you can fry up any type of bacon on the Blackstone. Prefer turkey bacon? Go for it! The cook time will be different, so watch it closely.
Helpful Tools
- Infrared thermometer – This is the easiest way to make sure the cooking surface has reached the temperature needed for cooking bacon on a Blackstone griddle.
- Burger press – This is a totally optional tool, but it will help to keep bacon slices nice and flat.
How to Cook Bacon on the Blackstone Griddle
- Add to griddle. Place the strips of bacon on preheated griddle with enough space between so that they are not touching each other.
- Brown. Cook bacon for about 3-5 minutes on each side. Bacon from the griddle will have an even, golden-brown color once it is cooked through. The edges and insides will be crispy.
- Soak up grease. Remove cooked slices from the Blackstone and place on a plate layered with paper towels to soak up excess grease and serve.

Storage And Reheating
Fridge: Store leftover bacon in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
Freezer: Lay cooked bacon in a single layer on a baking sheet and flash freeze before storing in an airtight container or freezer bag. Separate layers with parchment paper. Reheat from frozen or thaw in the fridge overnight.
Reheat leftover bacon by popping the slices in the microwave until warm. Cover with paper towel to avoid grease splattering in your microwave!
Serving Suggestions
This bacon goes well with any of my breakfast recipes, like Smoked Cinnamon Rolls, Cinnamon Monkey Bread, Blackstone Buttermilk Pancakes and Egg Muffins On The Grill.
I also use this bacon on delicious BLT sandwiches, in this BLT Dip, or on Homemade Smash Burgers and Blackstone Patty Melts!
Bacon goes good with everything, so use it however you’d like.
Pro Tips
- Save your bacon fat. You can use it to cook eggs, greens, vegetables, and so much more.
- Be sure you evenly cook both sides of each slice. Don’t leave one side on too long!
- If the bacon is sticking to your griddle, this could mean that your Blackstone is not seasoned well. You might have a build-up of grease or oil that is causing food to stick to the surface, so clean your Blackstone well, season it properly, and try again.
- If the heat is too high, the outside edges of the bacon will burn before the center is cooked, so pay close attention to the temperature of the griddle.
Frequently Asked Questions
The handy thing about a Blackstone griddle is that you can have different temperatures on separate sections of the griddle. Keep one section on low to keep the bacon warm, but not so hot it continues to cook.
Slide extra grease into the trough so that the bacon crisps nicely and isn’t deep frying in a puddle of grease.
For a nice crisp slice of bacon, cook for a little extra time with some added heat.
For softer bacon, cook lower and slower, removing from the griddle just before the bacon looks cooked since it will continue to cook and firm up as it rests.

- Place the bacon strips on the hot griddle with space between them so they do not overlap.
- Cook the bacon for 3-5 minutes, depending on the thickness of your bacon, flip with tongs and continue cooking for an additional 3-5 minutes or until bacon is cooked to your preferred doneness.
