Ingredients for Blackstone Pizza Grilled Cheese

  • Texas toast – Thick-sliced Texas toast holds up much better to the fillings in this grilled cheese. You can use regular bread if you’d like, but just keep in mind that it may fall apart more easily.
  • Mozzarella cheese – Sliced mozzarella cheese is key to making this amazing pizza grilled cheese sandwich! You can change it up if you’d like — cheddar cheese, American cheese, or provolone would be tasty.
  • Pepperoni – Grab a package of your favorite pepperoni to make this easy Blackstone pizza grilled cheese.
  • Pizza sauce – You can use store-bought pizza sauce or make your own suace. Marinara sauce works too!
  • Butter – To make your grilled cheese extra crispy, use butter so that the bread gets golden brown.

  2. Lay the bread butter side down on a clean surface and spread 1 Tablespoon of pizza sauce on each slice.
  3. Put a slice of cheese on 4 of the pieces of bread, then top the cheese with the pepperoni, then another piece of cheese, and then top with a piece of bread with just the pizza sauce on.
  4. Place the sandwich on the Blackstone and cook on each side for 2-4 minutes or until golden brown on each side.

How to Store a Leftover Grilled Cheese

While leftover can be stored, grilled cheese is best fresh. Allow the pizza grilled cheese to cool completely and then transfer to an airtight container or wrap in aluminum foil or plastic wrap.

FRIDGE: Store leftover Blackstone pizza grilled cheese in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.

FREEZER: Wrap grilled cheese in plastic wrap or foil and then place in a freezer safe bag. Freeze for 2-3 months and allow to thaw before reheating.

Should I use butter or mayo for a grilled cheese?

This recipe calls for butter, but I have other recipes like my Blackstone bacon grilled cheese that call for mayo. It really is up to personal preference! Butter doesn’t have a really high tolerance to heat, so it is more susceptible to burning. But mayo will give the grilled cheese a bit of a different flavor — so it’s up to you for what you prefer!

What to Serve with Blackstone Pizza Grilled Cheese

You can serve this Blackstone pizza grilled cheese all on its own, or pair with some tasty side dishes. Crispy Blackstone french fries are a tasty pairing, and some Blackstone smashed potatoes would be great as well.

I love dunking this tomato soup or minestrone soup too! Bring some veggies into the mix with some grilled cauliflower or bacon wrapped asparagus as a side dish. Don’t forget some ranch dressing or extra marinara sauce to dunk your grilled cheese!

What can I add to Blackstone pizza grilled cheese?

You can adapt and change this pepperoni grilled cheese however you want! Pizza toppings like olives, mushrooms, basil, onions, diced peppers and others can all be stuffed into this grilled cheese. Add any other toppings you enjoy too!

Pro Tips for the Best Pizza Grilled Cheese

  • For a less greasy grilled cheese, use low fat pepperoni or turkey pepperoni.
  • I highly recommend using thick sliced bread so that your grilled cheese will hold up to the melty cheese and pepperonis!
  • Make sure your Blackstone griddle is clean before you make each grilled cheese sandwich.

While leftover can be stored, grilled cheese is best fresh.
