PIN IT FOR LATER!

Skip the deep fryer and go straight for your Blackstone griddle instead! It’s the most simple way to achieve maximum flavor out of your french fries — a quick comfort food fix that never gets old. We busy families have to stick together, am I right? And one of those ways we stick together is with simple, no fuss recipes that put food in bellies and smiles on faces!

These crispy seasoned french fries are the perfect easy side dish to serve alongside a homemade smash burgers, but you can also load them up with your favorite toppings and make a delicious dish like pulled pork fries.

But the best part about this recipe is that it simply is just cooking up a bag of frozen french fries until they’re perfectly golden brown and crispy! A simple yet irresistible dish that is truly restaurant-quality tier. So let’s jump into this easy recipe!

Why You’ll Love Blackstone French Fries

  • There’s extremely minimal prep work to this recipe. As long as you have a bag of your favorite frozen french fries, a little oil, and some seasoning then you can make the best french fries in just minutes.
  • Griddled french fries are a tad bit healthier than deep-fried french fries. They use far less oil, reducing the fat content pretty significantly.
  • Cooking fries at home has never been easier! French fries on the griddle truly is the best side dish. These fries have the best crispy texture and the seasoned salt adds delightful flavor.

Ingredients for Blackstone French Fries

  • Frozen french fries – Grab a bag of your favorite french fries in freezer section of the grocery store. We recommend using standard cut so that they cook evenly.
  • Seasoned salt – Any kind of seasoned salt will do! Just use whatever is your favorite — simply some fine sea salt and black pepper would work as well.
  • Canola oil – Use a high heat oil to cook french fries on Blackstone. It’s key to making the outside of the fries crispy!

How to cook Frozen French Fries On Blackstone

  1. Remove your fries from the freezer and let them sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes while your griddle preheats.
  2. Preheat your griddle to medium-low. Once preheated, spread the oil out in an even layer on the griddle top.
  3. Add the slightly thawed fries in a single layer. Be careful to break them apart before adding to your griddle if you have any large clumps that are stuck together.
  4. Close the lid to your Blackstone if you have one, and let them cook undisturbed for 7 minutes.
  5. Stir, and then cook for another 10 to 12 minutes, stirring again after 5 min, until golden brown.
  6. Remove from the Blackstone and put the hot fries in a large bowl. Season generously with the seasoning salt and toss to coat all the fries. Serve immediately and enjoy!

How to Store Leftover French Fries

Allow your fries to cool completely before transferring to an airtight container. Then store in the fridge for 2-3 days. I do not recommend freezing leftovers because they likely won’t reheat well after being frozen. To reheat, place on a baking sheet in the oven or back on the Blackstone until warmed through.

Can you fry potatoes on a blackstone griddle?

This easy recipe is proof that you can fry potatoes on a Blackstone! Of course, this is more of a pan-frying method than deep frying, but the idea is still very similar. And if you like these Blackstone french fries, then you’ve got to try Hashbrowns on Blackstone.

What to Serve with Blackstone French Fries

These would be the perfect crispy base for easy loaded cheese fries! Add loads of different toppings like:

  • bacon
  • pulled pork
  • brisket
  • cheese
  • queso
  • jalapenos
  • ground beef
  • green onion

Of course, these are a wonderful side dish for a hungry crowd too. Serve this budget-friendly recipe alongside favorite meals and appetizers like Blackstone smash burger sliders, Blackstone chicken wings, and Blackstone philly cheesesteak. I even love them with a Blackstone bacon grilled cheese!

Don’t forget the favorite dipping sauce too. Ranch dressing, ketchup, burger sauce, fry sauce — you name it!

Pro Tips for the Best Blackstone French Fries

  • Make sure you use plenty of oil so that the french fries don’t stick to the Blackstone griddle flat top. But be careful not to use too much oil as well.
  • Some of the best seasonings are homemade. If you don’t have a favorite seasoned salt, don’t be afraid to make one from scratch!
  • On busy weeknights, keep the fries warm in a low heat oven while you cook up burgers and get the rest of the meal together!

Isn’t it crazy how a flat top grill can make the BEST french fries ever? Once you try Blackstone french fries, you just won’t be able to get enough of them.
