PIN IT FOR LATER!

Skip the takeout tonight and make this incredible Blackstone egg roll in a bowl recipe instead! This easy dish is a lot of fun and is packed with all of your egg roll favorites. It’s essentially just a deconstructed egg roll since all of the bowl ingredients are things you’d usually find stuffed in the center of a fried flour and egg wrapper.

We love to make our Asian inspired favorites on the Blackstone. Recipes like Blackstone beef stir fry and Blackstone beef and broccoli have become staple dinners. But this one is great since it’s loaded with veggies and is actually fits in the category of low carb Blackstone recipes. If you’re looking for a healthier option that is flavorful and loaded with protein, this is the perfect weeknight dinner!

Why You’ll Love this Egg Roll in a Bowl Recipe

  • Cleanup is really easy when you make dinner on the Blackstone. Just use a scraper to clean off any food particles and clean the griddle top.
  • Not only is this a low carb recipe, but it’s actually gluten free too. Just make sure that you use gluten free soy sauce.
  • It takes less than a half hour to make Blackstone egg roll in a bowl. A great quick meal for a busy weeknight!

Ingredients for Blackstone Egg Roll in a Bowl

  • Coleslaw mix – A dry coleslaw mix of cabbage and carrots is a great low carb base to this easy dinner recipe.
  • Green onions – Dice up green onions to use as a garnish.
  • Egg – Scramble an egg throughout the other ingredients. It adds similar flavor to that of traditional egg rolls and also adds more protein!
  • Sriracha – Classic sriracha sauce adds some good spice to this egg roll in a bowl.
  • Sesame oil – Sesame oil has a very distinct flavor, so I do not recommend substituting it with any other oil.
  • Ginger powder – Powdered ginger is the easiest way to add this classic Asian flare to this dish. However, you could use fresh ginger or even ginger paste if you prefer.
  • Garlic cloves – Freshly minced garlic will add great flavor to this low carb Blackstone recipe.
  • Reduced-sodium soy sauce – To keep this dish from getting too salty, use reduced sodium soy sauce. You can also use coconut aminos!
  • Ground pork or beef – Really, any ground meat will work! Use ground chicken, ground beef, pork or even ground turkey.

How to Store Leftover Blackstone Egg Roll in a Bowl

FRIDGE: Transfer leftovers in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place leftovers into the microwave, on the stove top in a skillet, or even on the Blackstone.

FREEZER: You can freeze leftovers too. Place them into an airtight container and store in the freezer for up to 3 months. Allow to thaw overnight in the fridge and then reheat in the microwave or one the stove top.

Add an extra drizzle of sesame oil or sriracha sauce to add some moisture back into the dish after reheating!

What to Serve with Egg Roll in a Bowl

Serve this yummy dish over rice or cauliflower rice. It would also be great over fried rice or stir fry noodles. It’d be super tasty with Asian chicken kebabs or smoked chicken breasts too. Asian pork tenderloin would be great as well.

If you’d like to serve just a simple side dish with this main course, veggies like grilled asparagus or easy grilled vegetables pair wonderfully with it.

Why are my eggs sticking on my Blackstone griddle?

If your scrambled egg is sticking to the grill top, then it may too hot. You also may need to reoil the top if it has become easy for food to stick too. To keep the rest of the egg roll mixture from sticking, add a splash of olive oil or vegetable oil and mix it in.

What else can I add to Blackstone Egg Roll in a Bowl

There are lots of tasty additions you can make to this egg roll in a bowl recipe. Drizzle each serving with some spicy mayo or an extra splash of soy sauce. You can also add veggies to the stir fry! Broccoli, bell peppers, and mushrooms would all be great additions. Additional toppings like cashews, peanuts or sliced almonds would be great too. For some extra kick, sprinkle on a few red pepper flakes!

Pro Tips for the Best Blackstone Egg Roll in a Bowl

  • Make sure you don’t make the griddle top too hot or your food could begin to overcook and/or stick.
  • Use an infrared thermometer to check the temperature of your Blackstone griddle. This will help you cook at the perfect temp!
  • Don’t overcook the cabbage! It’s good to go once it just begins to wilt. Any further and it will lose its crispy crunch.
