Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • This grilled ribeye steak is so juicy, tender and delicious.
  • Our seasoning really accentuates the amazing flavor of ribeye steak.
  • Minimal prep time means more time to spend visiting outside with friends and family at your BBQ.

Ingredients For Grilled Ribeye

  • Ribeye steak – We used a boneless cut, but you could also use bone-in steak. Our steaks were 12-16 oz. If yours are a different size, just adjust the grilling time accordingly.
  • Beef seasoning – We season steak with our homemade beef seasoning, but you can use your any of your favorites like Montreal Steak seasoning. A simple sprinkle of ground black pepper and kosher salt is delicious too. And don’t forget you can buy our Beef Seasoning to have on hand anytime!

How To Grill Ribeye Steak

  1. Place steaks on preheated grill, sprinkle seasoning over top, and close the lid. Grill on the first side for about 4-5 minutes. Flip steak over, season again, close the lid, and grill an additional 4-5 minutes or until steak reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit for medium doneness.
  2. Remove steaks from the grill and rest for five minutes, tented with foil. This is essential, so don’t skip this step. It helps redistribute the juices after it cooks and makes your steaks so tender and juicy.

Storage And Reheating

Fridge: Store leftover steak (if there is any!) in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-5 days.

Freezer: If you have too many leftovers, or you just want to freeze some of the steak for another time, wrap individually in plastic wrap before storing in an airtight container. Thaw in the fridge overnight.

Put steak back on the grill at about 300 degrees Fahrenheit to reheat for about 5 minutes. Reheat in the microwave if you’re in a hurry, but add a dab of water to your plate and cover so the steak doesn’t dry out.

Pro Tips

  • Take the time to remove the steak from the refrigerator about 30 minutes before you are going to grill it. This will bring it to room temperature. The benefit of this is that it will cook more evenly.
  • You can check out more tips and tricks from the Star Ranch Angus® beef website.

What Temperature Should I Grill My Steak To?

This depends on your preference of doneness when it comes to enjoying your steak. It is essential to have a good instant-read meat thermometer to monitor the internal temperature of your steak.

  • Medium-rare steak – 145 degrees Fahrenheit (about 3-4 minutes per side)
  • Medium steak – 160 degrees Fahrenheit (about 4-5 minutes per side)
  • Well-done steak – 170 degrees Fahrenheit (about 5-6 minutes per side)

Do I close the lid when cooking steak?

You sure do! Closing the lid will keep the temperature inside the grill consistent, allowing your steak to cook evenly. As a result, you will have perfect ribeye steak.

Can I use a marinade?

Yes, you can marinade ribeye steaks, too. If you are looking for a great steak marinade recipe, I’ve got you covered. Perfectly grilled steak is never out of reach with these!

  • The acid in balsamic vinegar tenderizes steak beautifully in our Balsamic Steak Marinade.
  • Garlic Marinade is put together super quickly with pantry staples.
  • Red Wine Marinade has a perfectly subtle red wine flavor that is sure to impress everyone at the supper table.
  • Italian Steak Marinade is a perfect summertime marinade that is made simply with oil, vinegar and herbs and spices that offer so much flavor.

Is Bone-In Ribeye Steak better than Boneless Ribeye?

Bone-in steaks are often juicier but they can be more challenging to cook – it’s harder to know when they’re done. That’s why we like boneless rib eye steak – they really are just as delicious and easier to cook.
